NBC 7 San Diego • • business
Key Points:
- Two men, Michael Goff (80) and Shawn Michael Foster (45), were arrested in Ocean Beach after a search warrant uncovered psilocybin gummies suspected of being distributed to at least 15 trick-or-treating children.
- No charges were filed specifically for distributing psilocybin gummies, but both men face firearm-related charges as convicted felons, and police found an identical bag of the gummies during the search.
- The police also seized over 2.5 pounds of cannabis, crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, an illegally possessed rifle, ammunition, and a partially assembled pistol from the residence.
- Parents discovered their young children had taken the psilocybin-infused gummies from a porch on Halloween, leading to a police report and testing that confirmed the presence of psilocybin.
- A separate investigation into unpermitted living structures at the property is underway, and authorities are seeking additional information from the public regarding the case.
