Abdul El-Sayed Hits JD Vance With A Brutal Football Nickname
HuffPost • • nation
Key Points:
- Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed nicknamed Vice President JD Vance “JV Dance” during a rally, leveraging the rivalry between their alma maters, University of Michigan and Ohio State.
- El-Sayed’s moniker implies Vance lacks charisma and effectiveness, with “JV” suggesting a junior varsity or second-tier status, while “dance” hints at Vance’s tendency to avoid direct answers.
- El-Sayed leads Republican Mike Rogers in most polls, despite Vance’s efforts campaigning in Michigan for Republicans during the midterm elections.
- The nickname follows El-Sayed’s previous use of sports metaphors, including calling Rogers “Big Pharma’s MVP,” aiming to frame political opponents in a critical light.
