Apple Music Is About To Sound Very Different On Your Apple TV

Key Points:

• Apple Music is enhancing its streaming experience on Apple TV 4K 2nd and 3rd-generation devices with support for high-resolution lossless audio starting in tvOS 27, allowing listeners to enjoy uncompromised sound quality.
• The lossless audio feature streams music with preserved frequencies and data from the original recordings, providing a richer listening experience for users with compatible speakers and newer Apple TV models released after 2021.
• This update follows Apple Music's rollout of lossless audio across its entire catalog of over 100 million songs in 2026, complementing earlier additions like spatial audio with Dolby Atmos for immersive sound.
• Industry experts and users note that lossless audio delivers sound quality comparable to CDs or vinyl records, offering a more authentic and detailed audio experience than standard compressed streams.
• Older Apple TV models will not support this high-resolution lossless audio update, encouraging users to upgrade to newer devices to take advantage of the improved sound quality.
