As a TV enthusiast, I was hoping for more from the Apple TV 4K

Key Points:
- Apple announced the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, featuring a new chip, Find My support for the remote, built-in far-field mics for Siri, and a dedicated AV1 decoder for higher-quality streaming.
- The device now only comes in a 128GB Wi-Fi and Ethernet model priced at $300, eliminating the cheaper 64GB Wi-Fi-only option, making it significantly more expensive than competing streaming devices.
- Apple added surround sound capabilities by pairing HomePod 2 and HomePod Mini 2 speakers, but the lack of audio passthrough limits integration with existing high-end home theater audio systems.
- Missing features like 4K/120Hz output, HDMI input for passthrough, and digital optical out leave the Apple TV 4K less appealing for home theater enthusiasts despite its premium price.
- While the Apple TV 4K offers privacy benefits and some new features, its high cost and absence of certain advanced functionalities may lead consumers to consider more affordable alternatives from Google, Roku, or Amazon.
