Brandon Aiyuk to hire new reps in hopes of return

Key Points:

• Free agent WR Brandon Aiyuk remains under contract with the 49ers but has not applied for reinstatement, a necessary step before he can be released or traded; it is unlikely he will play for any team in 2026, including the Commanders, who have expressed no interest in signing him.
• The 49ers have placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left squad list, meaning he does not count against the roster and is not being paid until he applies for reinstatement and returns to the team, with his future in San Francisco uncertain due to injury and off-field issues.
• Seattle plans to activate RB Jadarian Price from injured reserve for Week 8, restoring their backfield alongside Zach Charbonnet, though the distribution of carries remains uncertain for fantasy managers.
• Ravens signed QB Austin Reed to their practice squad, likely to serve as backup to Joe Fagnano, while the Commanders are assessing the severity of RB Jeremy McNichols’ foot injury, which could sideline him again after a recent quad injury.
• Packers head coach Matt LaFleur expects RB Josh Jacobs to remain on the roster amid ongoing investigations into domestic violence allegations, and anticipates LB Micah Parsons to practice this week with a target return in Week 12.
