Yahoo • • science
Key Points:
- Neil deGrasse Tyson stated on Hot Ones Game Night that while humans cannot travel to the past, time travel to the future is theoretically possible through relativistic effects, such as traveling at high speeds and aging slower relative to those on Earth.
- Tyson explained that this form of time travel involves moving into the future of others, but individuals remain bound to their own timeline, unable to access their own future or past.
- Despite confirming future time travel's theoretical validity, Tyson dismissed the possibility of time travel as depicted in popular movies like the Marvel Avengers films.
- Tyson ranked famously intelligent individuals, placing Stephen Hawking as the most intelligent, followed by Carl Sagan, with Tyson and Bill Nye tied for third place due to their similar intellects.
