Key Points:
- College football is on the verge of approving an expansion to a 24-team College Football Playoff starting in the 2027 season, significantly increasing postseason opportunities.
- This expansion aims to provide more prospects with hope and belief that they can compete for the championship, even if their schools are not among the highest spenders in college football.
- The broader playoff field will create tangible chances for teams across the country, from smaller markets to major cities, to participate in the postseason more regularly.
- This change marks a historic shift from the previous limited access, which only allowed a select few teams to compete for the national title every few years.
