Key Points:
- Republican Anthony Constantino won the 21st Congressional District race and delivered a profanity-laced victory speech in which he criticized the news media, specifically targeting 7 News reporter Garrett Domblewski and anchor Jeff Cole with insults.
- During the speech, Constantino ordered Domblewski to be removed from the event, leading security to escort the reporter out, an action Constantino later posted about on social media defending his decision by labeling Domblewski as hostile and part of "Evil Media."
- 7 News denied Constantino's repeated claims that they deleted interviews or published fake transcripts, explaining their standard practice of not uploading full candidate interviews online and addressing technical issues affecting some recordings.
- Domblewski stated he had no prior conflict with Constantino and had conducted a cordial interview earlier that evening; the incident drew national attention and was mocked on shows like “The Daily Show” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” which also highlighted the presence of a child during Constantino’s expletive-filled remarks.
