New York Post • • business
Key Points:
- January is the best month to shop at Costco for discounts, as post-holiday deals are abundant, according to expert blogger Claudia Chee of Costco Claudia.
- Shoppers should watch for price tags ending in .97 or .00, which indicate markdowns, and an asterisk, known as the "death star," signaling items that won't be restocked.
- September is another prime time for deals, especially on BBQ essentials and outdoor goods, while Black Friday offers discounts on electronics, appliances, clothing, and toys.
- Chee advises shoppers to prioritize quality and necessity over simply chasing the lowest price, emphasizing the value of ingredients and materials.
- Costco plans to open 33 new warehouses in fiscal 2027, aiming to maintain its goal of adding around 30 net new locations annually.
