Key Points:

• Russian President Vladimir Putin praised Elon Musk as a "real genius" and revealed that they are in close contact regarding satellite technology, particularly to avoid interference between Russia's Rassvet and Musk's Starlink satellites.
• Putin emphasized the importance of cooperation with Musk and American partners despite political tensions, highlighting ongoing efforts to coordinate satellite operations in orbit.
• Russia's Rassvet project, described as the country's "Starlink alternative," currently has only a few dozen satellites compared to Starlink's approximately 13,000, marking Russia's initial steps in satellite internet technology.
• The remarks come amid signs of warming relations between the US and Russia, including recent diplomatic moves and cooperation in space, even as the conflict in Ukraine continues and Starlink has played a role in supporting Ukrainian communications.
