Fox News • • nation
Key Points:
- Federal authorities raided a Beverly Hills mansion linked to former Rep. Eric Swalwell as part of an ongoing investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against him.
- Swalwell resigned from Congress and withdrew from the California gubernatorial race earlier this year following multiple accusations of sexual misconduct from at least five women, including a former staffer.
- In August, the FBI searched Swalwell's D.C. home and seized his electronic devices at San Francisco International Airport during a probe related to sexual misconduct; he was not arrested or detained.
- Declassified FBI records revealed Swalwell admitted to having "physical relations" with Christine "Fang Fang" Fang, a suspected Chinese intelligence operative, with their last encounter in March 2015.
- Swalwell has denied the sexual misconduct allegations as "flat out false" and vowed to fight them, while also acknowledging responsibility for certain mistakes as he left office after 13 years in Congress.
