Google starts rolling out QR code Quick Share transfers between Android and iOS
Key Points:
- Google has introduced a new Quick Share feature allowing Android users to share files with iPhones via QR codes, enabling iPhone users to scan the code through their Camera app for file transfer.
- The transferred files are securely uploaded to the cloud with end-to-end encryption and remain available for up to 24 hours, requiring no additional apps on the iPhone.
- This QR code sharing feature is designed for Android devices without native Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility and is rolling out to all Android phones starting May 12, with full availability expected within a month.
- Google also announced that native Quick Share-AirDrop compatibility will soon expand to more flagship Android devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S24 and S25 series, Galaxy Z Flip and Fold models, OPPO Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, and HONOR Magic series.
