Key Points:
- The Milwaukee Brewers won the 2026 World Series by defeating the Tampa Bay Rays in five games, ending their championship drought and finishing with an 11-2 postseason record.
- The Brewers face an uncertain offseason with a potential MLB lockout looming as the current collective bargaining agreement expires on December 1, and negotiations between owners and players remain stalled.
- Key players under contract for 2027 include Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio, Aaron Ashby, Cooper Pratt, and Luis Lara, while five players, including William Contreras, have contract options that must be decided by November 2.
- The Brewers have 16 players eligible for salary arbitration, including notable names like Brice Turang, Andrew Vaughn, Garrett Mitchell, and Trevor Megill, with some projected to receive significant salary increases.
- Pending free agents include Jake Bauers, JoJo Romero, and Brandon Woodruff, with Bauers coming off a career year and possibly receiving a qualifying offer, while Woodruff may return on an incentive-based deal despite injury concerns.
