Mind-Boggling True Cost of Trump’s War Revealed

Key Points:

• The Pentagon informed Congress that the cost of Donald Trump’s war on Iran has reached at least $47.1 billion as of October 16, marking a $3.5 billion increase in six weeks despite a pause in major strikes.
• The expenses cover damaged equipment, replacements, operational costs across military branches, and include $29 billion spent on munitions and significant costs for Navy, Army, and Air Force operations in the Middle East.
• Approximately 50,000 troops are involved in the operation, which has resulted in 18 American deaths and around 860 injuries, with 80 aircraft lost or damaged according to a Congressional report.
• The heavy expenditure on munitions has also affected U.S. support for Ukraine, delaying shipments of critical air defense systems like Patriot missiles, prompting public criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
• In June, the White House and Pentagon requested an additional $70 billion from Congress to cover ongoing war costs, highlighting the escalating financial burden of the conflict.
