Padres win NLDS Game 3 2026

Key Points:

• The San Diego Padres avoided elimination in Game 3 of the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 4-3 victory, highlighted by Michael King closing out the final six outs despite limited bullpen options.
• Key relievers Mason Miller and Adrian Morejon were unavailable due to Miller’s paternity leave and Morejon’s shoulder fatigue, forcing the Padres to rely on other bullpen arms in a high-stakes elimination game.
• The Padres have now lost the first two games and lead the series 2-1, with Game 4 scheduled for Wednesday night; all three games have been decided by a single run, underscoring the intense competitiveness of the series.
• Xander Bogaerts played a crucial defensive role in ending Game 3 with a game-ending double play, while Jake Cronenworth’s solo home run provided the decisive lead for the Padres.
• The Padres plan to start Walker Buehler in Game 4, but their bullpen strategy remains uncertain due to the unclear status of Miller and Morejon, emphasizing the challenges they face in mounting a comeback against the 103-win Brewers.
