Prime Day PS5 deals live: how to save on consoles and the best game and accessory savings I'd hit ahead of the sale

Key Points:

• The base PS5, both digital and disc versions, remains a strong value proposition for gamers, with stable 60fps performance and high-quality visuals, making the PS5 Pro's $900 price hard to justify compared to refurbished base models around $499.
• Sony's INZONE H3 wired gaming headset is discounted by 43% to $68 for Prime Day, offering great comfort and sound quality, though wired connectivity may not suit all users.
• Prime Day is expected to bring significant discounts on PS5-compatible M.2 NVMe SSDs, with 1-2TB capacity being the sweet spot for most users; buyers should ensure compatibility with PS5 before purchasing.
• Special edition items like the GTA 6 DualSense controller are unlikely to see Prime Day discounts soon, while physical PS5 games are still worth buying now despite Sony's plan to cease physical game production by 2028.
• For PS5 controllers, Sony’s DualSense remains the best value for single players, while pro controllers like Victrix Pro BFG, DualSense Edge, and Nacon Revolution 5 Pro offer customizable features at higher prices; the official Sony DualSense charging stand is recommended over Razer’s for charging two controllers simultaneously.
