The Independent • • general
Key Points:
- In the Ted Lasso season 4 finale, Ted steps down from managing the men's team at AFC Richmond to become assistant manager and head coach of the women's team, the Lady Greyhounds, a decision Jason Sudeikis wanted from the start.
- The coaching staff is reshuffled with Roy Kent leaving Richmond to manage Chelsea, and Alice Chilton taking over the Lady Greyhounds, reflecting Ted's desire to spend more time with his son Henry and reduce his work devotion.
- The season 4 storyline was unexpected as the series was initially thought to end after season 3, but Apple renewed it, exploring Ted's struggles balancing family and football commitments.
- Despite open plot threads suggesting potential for a fifth season, co-creator Brendan Hunt confirmed there is no guarantee the series will continue, with Sudeikis keeping future plans private.
- All four seasons of Ted Lasso are currently available for streaming on Apple TV.
