The night Buckeyes QB Luke Fahey stole the spotlight from a 5

Key Points:

• Luke Fahey, a 5-foot-11 quarterback from Mission Viejo, California, gained significant attention after leading his team to a 53-14 victory over Folsom, outplaying a highly ranked rival and former five-star prospect, Ryder Lyons.
• Despite being ranked No. 609 in the 2026 recruiting class and overlooked by major events like Elite 11, Fahey's strong performances and leadership earned him offers from top programs, ultimately committing to Ohio State in June 2025.
• Fahey's work ethic, competitiveness, and poise under pressure have impressed coaches, including Ohio State's Ryan Day, who values his obsession with greatness and ability to perform in high-stakes games.
• Fahey's senior season showcased his talent with multiple high-scoring games and a balanced passing attack, even without top-ranked receivers, boosting his profile ahead of his likely starting role for Ohio State against USC.
• This weekend's game at USC will be a significant test for Fahey as he faces Jayden Maiava, the Big Ten's leading passer and a projected NFL draft pick, highlighting Fahey's rise from a lightly recruited prospect to a key player on a national stage.
