The Rivian R2 will launch with 335 miles of range

- Both R2 trims feature an 87.9 kWh battery, with an official EPA range of 335 miles on 21-inch wheels for the Performance model, slightly higher than the previously estimated 330 miles.
- Interestingly, the R2’s EPA range drops to 314 miles when equipped with smaller 20-inch wheels due to the use of knobby all-terrain tires, which increase drag.
- Additional EPA range data for other trims and tire configurations, including a $45,000 version with a smaller battery expected in late 2027, will be released later.
- The R2’s battery pack capacity is officially listed at 86.8 kWh, with a maximum DC fast-charging rate of 210 kW, 11.5 kW level 2 AC charging, and an improved standard heat pump compared to the R1 models.
