Valuable Warhammer 40k Precons Unexpectedly Get New Print Run
Draftsim • • technology
Key Points:
- Wizards of the Coast announced a reprint of the popular 2022 Warhammer 40K Commander decks, marking the first time a Universes Beyond product has been reprinted.
- The original Warhammer 40K Commander precons include four faction-themed decks: Necron Dynasties, Forces of Imperium, Tyranid Swarm, and The Ruinous Powers, each led by iconic commanders from the Warhammer 40K universe.
- Universes Beyond products are typically difficult to reprint due to their specific settings, but this reprint sets a precedent that could lead to more reprints of similar products, such as Fallout Commander precons.
- While Commander precons are likely to see more reprints due to consistent demand, full draftable sets and collector boosters from Universes Beyond, like the Lord of the Rings set, may or may not follow suit.
- The reprint may impact the secondary market by reducing resale prices, potentially causing controversy among resellers, but Wizards of the Coast appears focused on meeting player demand rather than maintaining high aftermarket values.
