NBC Sports • • sports
Key Points:
- New Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla addressed concerns about the team's future in Seattle, stating on Twitter that there are no plans to move the team and criticizing media for allegedly distorting his comments.
- Khosla's original Axios quote avoided a firm long-term commitment to keeping the Seahawks in Seattle, saying he has "no current plans to change anything" but would "never say never" about the team's location.
- Critics argue Khosla’s vague language leaves room for future relocation plans and undermines trust, especially as he could have provided a stronger assurance to fans.
- Khosla’s approach is seen as a strategic move to maintain leverage for potential stadium negotiations, but it has caused anxiety among fans and city officials.
- Additionally, Khosla admitted to knowing "very little about running a team," a statement that has drawn further scrutiny regarding his readiness to manage the Seahawks effectively.
