Key Points:
- "Tenzing," a biopic directed by Jennifer Peedom, highlights the life of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, co-first to summit Mount Everest in 1953, focusing on his perspective rather than the traditionally white explorer viewpoint; it debuts Oct. 16 on Apple TV with a 3-star rating.
- "Love of Your Life," a romantic drama available on Amazon Prime, features Margaret Qualley as a nurse recovering from COVID-19 trauma, praised for its soulful character study and strong performances, earning 3 stars.
- "Trust Me, I’m a Doctor," a film about Anna Nicole Smith’s doctor directed by Thane Economou, struggles with tone and narrative focus, failing as a comedy, drama, or celebrity critique; it opens Oct. 16 in theaters with a 1½-star rating.
- "Animals," directed by and starring Ben Affleck, is a cynical hostage thriller exploring human nature and political desperation, but suffers from a convoluted screenplay and unresolved plot points; it is streaming on Netflix with a 2-star rating.
