2026 NFL Week 8 Biggest Takeaways for Every Team
Bleacher Report • • sports
Key Points:
- The Green Bay Packers improved to a 5-3 record despite having the NFL's worst rushing offense, becoming the first team in league history to have a winning record through eight games while rushing for fewer than 500 yards.
- Green Bay's defense dominated, sacking Panthers QB Bryce Young six times with six different defenders and pressuring him on nearly half of his dropbacks, even without key players Micah Parsons and Zaire Franklin.
- Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has struggled due to a weakened offensive line and lack of explosive plays, throwing for fewer than 210 yards in consecutive games and facing constant pressure from the Packers' defense.
- Carolina's secondary is severely depleted by injuries, with multiple cornerbacks sidelined, allowing Green Bay receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden to combine for 15 catches and 192 yards.
- Despite offensive flaws, the Packers remain competitive largely due to Jordan Love’s solid quarterback play and a strong defense that continues to improve and compensate for the team's rushing struggles.
