Key Points:
- Notre Dame leads Miami 17-3 at halftime, with quarterback CJ Carr impressing by completing 18 of 26 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns, including a dominant final drive before the half.
- Miami's offense struggles, going 0 for 6 on third downs and failing to score from inside the 5-yard line despite multiple attempts, while Notre Dame's defense continues to stifle the Hurricanes without star receiver Malachi Toney.
- Miami quarterback Darian Mensah has underperformed, completing just 6 of 12 passes for 49 yards, leading to a shift in Heisman Trophy favoritism towards Carr.
- Notre Dame outgains Miami 251-145 yards, with Miami's rushing yards inflated by a single 29-yard run, and both teams' offensive lines holding up in pass protection, though Notre Dame's defensive front is more effective in tight situations.
- Miami faces challenges in revitalizing their offense, particularly in getting Cooper Barkate more involved and boosting the running game with Mark Fletcher Jr., as they look for adjustments from offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson.
