Antigravity's Follow Me Bundle Adds Accurate Tracking And Gesture Controls To Its A1 Drone

Key Points:

• Antigravity has released a Follow Me accessory bundle for its A1 drone, including propeller guards, a watch remote, and a ring remote, enabling hands-free shooting and improved tracking capabilities; the bundle is priced at $799 with discounts for existing A1 owners.
• The watch and ring remotes introduce gesture-based controls and enhanced tracking by combining visual tracking with GNSS, allowing users to pilot the drone without the bulky goggles and one-handed controller previously required.
• The new Drag-to-Fly gesture system allows directional control of the drone by pointing and rotating the ring remote, though some limitations exist, such as inability to move the drone in all three dimensions simultaneously and a somewhat bulky watch design.
• Pre-programmed flight paths and improved safety features like propeller guards and takeoff clearance warnings enhance the flying experience, while the kit also addresses legal restrictions by enabling solo outdoor drone operation without goggles.
• Despite the innovative features and improved portability, the Follow Me bundle increases the overall cost of the A1 drone and includes some ergonomic and control quirks that users may find challenging.
