Key Points:
- Siri AI will be exclusive to the HomePod mini 2 and will not be available on older HomePod mini models, according to Apple’s confirmation to 9to5Mac.
- Earlier reports from CNET mistakenly claimed that Siri AI compatibility would come to the original HomePod mini, but the article was later corrected.
- Apple has clarified that Siri AI support will also be available on Apple TV 4K models from the 2nd generation onward, but not on older devices with outdated chips like the original HomePod mini.
- The original HomePod mini, powered by the S5 chip, is considered too outdated for AI tasks like Siri AI, which requires more advanced hardware found in newer models.
