Key Points:
- Arnold Schwarzenegger will star as Santa Claus for the first time in the upcoming holiday film The Man With the Bag, where he teams up with thief Alan Ritchson to recover stolen presents.
- The movie, directed by Adam Shankman, features a quirky plot including a mischievous elf played by Awkwafina, and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on December 2.
- Despite the star-studded cast and Schwarzenegger's evident enjoyment, the film's direct-to-streaming release raises concerns about its quality, especially compared to previous Amazon MGM Christmas movies like Red One.
- Supporting cast includes Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski, and Ken Jeong, adding to the film's comedic potential reminiscent of an Expendables-style team-up.
- While initial critical reception is uncertain, nostalgia for Schwarzenegger's past holiday hit Jingle All the Way suggests audiences may eventually warm up to this new festive offering.
