Key Points:
- FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alex Wilkins announced their engagement on social media, revealing they have been dating since 2023 after meeting at a ReAwaken America event.
- Wilkins, 27, has been assigned an FBI security detail consisting of elite agents typically from the SWAT team, which has raised questions due to her not living with Patel or in the same city.
- The FBI stated Wilkins faces hundreds of credible death threats linked to her relationship with Patel, justifying the protective detail, though further details were withheld for her safety.
- The use of SWAT members for Wilkins' protection is considered unusual and sparked criticism, especially as some individuals under threat from foreign actors reportedly lost similar security resources.
- Former FBI agent Christopher O’Leary criticized the security arrangement, emphasizing that Wilkins is not Patel’s spouse and highlighting perceived inconsistencies in the allocation of protective details.
