Key Points:
- Drew Rasmussen was dominant in Game 1 of the ALDS, pitching 7 2/3 no-hit innings with 10 strikeouts, tying a Rays postseason record and leading Tampa Bay to a 1-0 victory over the Yankees.
- Rasmussen's no-hit bid was broken with two outs in the eighth inning by Austin Wells, but Wells was thrown out trying to stretch the hit into a triple, aided by a critical baserunning error by the Yankees catcher.
- The Yankees' Gerrit Cole pitched well, allowing only one run over five innings, but Tampa Bay's strong pitching staff, including three hitless relief innings, secured the win.
- Rasmussen came close to joining Don Larsen and Roy Halladay as the only pitchers to throw a postseason no-hitter but fell just short after 7 2/3 innings.
- Game 2 of the ALDS is set for Monday at Tropicana Field, with Cam Schlittler starting for the Yankees and the Rays' starter yet to be announced.
