'DWTS' pro Val Chmerkovskiy made startling remark about Carrie Ann Inaba pre-suspension

Key Points:

• Val Chmerkovskiy joked about keying judge Carrie Ann Inaba’s car during a September 29 interview, shortly before his controversial remarks led to a temporary suspension from "Dancing With the Stars."
• The joke came after Inaba criticized Chmerkovskiy’s partner, Jenna Dewan, for performing "too hard," prompting Chmerkovskiy to make a veiled threat about Inaba’s car.
• Following a tense exchange between Inaba and Jenna Johnson on the October 13 episode, Chmerkovskiy posted a now-deleted TikTok referencing the Will Smith Oscars incident, which was deemed inappropriate by BBC Studios.
• BBC Studios suspended Chmerkovskiy for a week, citing that his social media post did not align with the show's values, and he will be temporarily replaced by Alan Bernsten.
• Chmerkovskiy apologized publicly for his actions, expressed surprise at the suspension, and will watch the upcoming episode from home.
