Dylan Dodd to start NLDS Game 1 against Dodgers
MLB.com • • general
Key Points:
- The Braves chose Dylan Dodd as the opener for Game 1 of the NLDS against the Dodgers, following the strategy used by Ray Kerr against the Phillies.
- Dodd, who last started seven games in the 2023 season, is expected to be followed by reliever Grant Holmes, who threw 28 pitches over two innings in the Wild Card Series.
- The Braves relied heavily on only two traditional starters, Chris Sale and Tyler Mahle, during the Wild Card Series, limiting their availability for early NLDS games.
- Sale pitched 95 pitches in Game 1 and finished Game 3 of the Wild Card Series, making him unavailable before Game 2 of the NLDS, while Mahle will be unavailable before Game 3.
