Key Points:
- Fantastical, a popular calendar app previously exclusive to Apple and Windows, is now available on Google's new laptop platform, Googlebook, marking its first entry into the Android ecosystem.
- Current Fantastical users can access the app on Googlebook at no extra cost, while new users can use it across all supported devices, though the app is not yet available on Android phones, tablets, or foldables.
- Flexibits CEO Michael Simmons confirmed that mobile versions for Android devices are in development but will not launch until 2027, and there is no current plan to bring the company's contact management app, Cardhop, to Android.
- Fantastical originated on Mac in 2011 with a natural language interface and expanded to Windows in late 2024; the move to Googlebook was inspired by Google's new laptop platform demo, which impressed the development team.
- Pricing for Fantastical starts at $57 per year for individuals and $90 for family plans, with a free tier offering limited features available to users.
