Gemini AI Plus will drop access to Pro models next month
9to5Google • • technology
Key Points:
- Google is notifying Gemini AI Plus subscribers that starting November 13, 2026, their subscription will no longer include access to advanced Gemini Pro models, limiting them to Flash and Flash-Lite models only.
- The change follows a recent update to Gemini’s subscription model, where the new high-performance Argon model is reserved for AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, excluding AI Plus members entirely.
- The AI Plus tier, priced at $4.99/month, will see reduced capabilities, while the $19.99/month AI Pro tier retains access to Argon, increasing the gap between subscription levels.
- Google continues to offer a free plan with access to Flash-Lite and integrates these subscriptions with Google Workspace benefits and other perks like YouTube Premium.
