Google rolling out 'massive' Pixel Buds Pro, Pro 2, and 2a update

Key Points:

• Google is releasing a major firmware update for Pixel Buds Pro, Pro 2, and Pixel Buds 2a, following last month's addition of Gemini control.
• The Pixel Buds Pro 2 exclusively gains Dynamic Active Noise Cancellation, which automatically adjusts audio and noise cancellation based on the ear seal to compensate for subtle movements.
• Other features, previously previewed in August, are now available across Pixel Buds Pro (2022), Pro 2 (2024), and 2a (2025), including Active Noise Cancellation, EQ adjustment, and touch controls via Gemini voice commands.
• New functionalities include Tap to Mute for calls (requiring a paired Pixel phone), auto-pausing media playback when the user falls asleep (using Pixel Watch sleep sensing), and disabling touch gestures and notifications during sleep.
• Enhanced Live Translate enables instant translation through a simple touch on the earbuds, allowing users to converse or listen in foreign languages seamlessly with the Google Translate app, without needing to use their phone directly.
