iOS 27.1 is exclusive to iPhone Duo, here’s why

Key Points:
- Apple has officially released iOS 27.1, but it is exclusively available for the new iPhone Duo model, making it inaccessible through the usual Software Update section on other iPhones.
- Most other iPhone users will skip iOS 27.1 and receive iOS 27.2 next week, which has been in beta testing for a month and includes new features across Messages, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Podcasts, FaceTime, and Siri AI.
- The iPhone Duo’s iOS 27.1 update was likely kept separate to conceal new features until the device’s official launch and to simplify internal engineering due to its unique hardware and software requirements.
- Users of other iPhone models should expect to see iOS 27.2 as the next available update, and not worry about missing iOS 27.1, which is specific to the iPhone Duo.
