iOS 27.3 and macOS 27.3 add Vertical Tabs, Adaptive Dark Mode, and more to Safari

Key Points:

• Apple has released the first betas of iOS 27.3, iPadOS 27.3, and macOS 27.3, introducing significant Safari updates including a new Vertical Tabs layout, Adaptive Dark Mode, and enhanced Siri AI Custom Actions.
• The Vertical Tabs feature arranges browser tabs vertically on the left side, allowing users to view tabs as icons or resize the tab bar to see website titles, and can be enabled via Safari settings or the View menu.
• Adaptive Dark Mode automatically applies a dark theme to websites that do not natively support Dark Mode, with users able to activate it per site or set it to apply automatically when Dark Mode is enabled system-wide.
• Siri AI improvements allow users to manage Safari tabs through voice commands, such as moving, sorting, organizing, and closing tabs, with future updates expanding Siri’s awareness to entire website content beyond the visible screen.
• These updates are currently available to developers for beta testing and are expected to be publicly released around December.
