Key Points:
- Comedian Shane Gillis hosted "Saturday Night Live" on October 10 and sparked controversy by accidentally dropping an f-bomb and making a derogatory remark about women's gym shorts, drawing backlash from fans and fellow comedians.
- Critics called out NBC and "SNL" producers for featuring Gillis, especially since he had been previously fired from the show for offensive comments; however, neither NBC nor "SNL" have publicly responded to the criticism.
- "Saturday Night Live" will take a two-week break and return on October 31 with new host Inde Navarette, marking Navarette's first time hosting after gaining fame from the 2026 film "Obsession."
- Navarette, known for roles in "Superman and Lois" and an upcoming MCU "X-Men" film, will be joined by pop star Gracie Abrams, who has previously performed on "SNL" and recently released her third album, "Daughter From Hell."
- The timing of the controversial episode before the break may allow the show to move past the backlash as it returns with fresh talent and new episodes.
