Key Points:
- Joe Manganiello's memoir "Bloodlines" alleges that Tom Cruise may have blocked him from landing the lead role in Amazon's "Jack Reacher" series, possibly due to their shared past with actress Sofía Vergara.
- According to Joe, Amazon executives and producers initially favored him for the role, praising his physical resemblance and intelligence as fitting the character of Jack Reacher.
- Joe recounts that Skydance producer Don Granger and others, including author Lee Child, were enthusiastic about his casting, but the decision changed after Amazon executive Jen Salke expressed frustration over being excluded from casting decisions.
- Joe's team speculates that Tom Cruise, who played Reacher in earlier films and served as an executive producer on the TV show, may have vetoed Joe's casting because of his previous relationship with Sofía Vergara.
