Josh Jacobs could be on thin ice in Green Bay
NBC Sports • • sports
Key Points:
- The Green Bay Packers have historically supported running back Josh Jacobs despite his off-field misdemeanor battery plea, but recent developments may be shifting that stance.
- Police records revealing at least three additional domestic violence accusations against Jacobs, combined with his underwhelming performance averaging 2.3 yards per carry, are putting pressure on the team to reconsider his position.
- The Packers' interest in trading for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor suggests they are exploring options to replace Jacobs.
- Cutting Jacobs would involve financial complications, including termination pay and potential recovery of signing bonus money, but the team may prioritize moving on from him despite these costs.
- Overall, the Packers appear to be seriously contemplating a future without Jacobs, potentially initiating changes sooner rather than later.
