IGN • • technology
Key Points:
- LEGO PlayStation, a near 1:1 scale model of Sony's original 1994 console, will be available for purchase starting October 4, with early access for LEGO Insiders.
- The set includes the original PlayStation console and the first controller design, predating the DualShock controller by three years.
- The LEGO PS1 features functional Power and Open buttons; pressing Power reveals a green LEGO piece to simulate turning on, and Open releases the disc cover to reveal two removable dioramas.
- The included dioramas are themed after the games Gran Turismo (1997) and Ape Escape (1999), which can be displayed separately from the console model.
- The set's packaging is designed to resemble the original PlayStation box, adding a nostalgic touch for collectors and fans.
