Key Points:
- Rare GameCube variations, especially Japanese exclusives like the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles edition, can sell for thousands of dollars, with some units fetching up to $7,500 on the secondary market.
- The Crystal Chronicles console was limited to 150 units and was only available as a magazine sweepstakes prize, featuring a unique Crystal White color distinct from the common Pearl White version.
- Other highly valuable collector's items include the Heineken GameCube, limited to 100 units and worth up to $15,500, and the Japan-exclusive Gundam Char and Tales of Symphonia bundles, which are more accessible but still sought after.
- Some unofficial GameCube releases, such as airbrushed consoles tied to movie promotions like The Polar Express and The Incredibles, are also considered rare collectibles.
- Even standard GameCube consoles can have resale value, making them potentially profitable for owners who no longer use them.
