Patrick: Colts could contact Manning about GM job

Key Points:

• Broncos coach Sean Payton remains committed to Bo Nix as the starting quarterback, emphasizing that improvements in offensive line play and running the ball will support Nix's development despite his struggles in six starts.
• Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles indicated that Baker Mayfield is expected to practice Wednesday but the team is preparing for Jalon Daniels to start in Week 7 due to Mayfield's ongoing recovery from a dislocated thumb.
• Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner is dealing with a mild calf strain and is considered week-to-week, likely missing Week 7 but not expected to be sidelined for an extended period or placed on injured reserve.
• The Colts are reportedly reaching out to Peyton Manning about their vacant general manager position, exploring both potential candidates and Manning's interest in the role, which could include ownership involvement.
• Ravens rookie Ja’Kobi Lane returned from a wrist injury to catch 4-of-5 targets for 40 yards in Week 6, showing promising involvement in the offense, though he is not yet recommended as a fantasy starter for Week 7.
