Preview/Lines #15: Warsofsky on Why Dickinson Isn’t on Power Play (Yet), Orlov’s Season, How Sharks Want To Emulate Sens

San Jose Hockey Now • October 31, 2026 • sports

Key Points:

The San Jose Sharks aim to replicate the Ottawa Senators' recent turnaround, as both teams endured seven consecutive seasons without playoff appearances before showing improvement.
Senators head coach Travis Green transformed Ottawa starting in the 2024-25 season, leading them to two consecutive playoff berths with a tight-checking, fast-paced style.
Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky admires Ottawa's structured, suffocating play and wants his young, skilled team to adopt a similar approach to achieve winning hockey.
Despite trading star winger Brady Tkachuk, the Senators remain a strong team in the Eastern Conference, highlighting the effectiveness of Green's coaching and system.
The Sharks currently hold a 7-6-1 record with Alex Nedeljkovic starting in goal, while the Senators stand at 8-5-1 ahead of their upcoming matchup.
