Key Points:
- Prince Harry is reportedly upset that Meghan Markle is choosing to spend Christmas in the U.S. rather than in the UK, as he hoped they could host Markle’s mother and secure invitations to see his father or the Spencer family.
- Despite Harry’s efforts to convince Meghan to stay in the UK, she preferred not to wait for a royal invitation and used the opportunity to return to the U.S., with Harry following her decision.
- Sources indicate that the Sussexes will not be celebrating Christmas with the royal family this year, partly due to respect for King Charles’s authority and to avoid any difficult situations.
- Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is expected to be part of the couple’s holiday celebrations regardless of location.
- The Sussexes have temporarily left the UK amid legal issues involving Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle Sr.
