Ravens complete trade for Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett
ESPN • • sports
Key Points:
- The Baltimore Ravens have traded for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett, acquiring him along with a 2027 fifth-round pick in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round pick.
- The trade addresses the Ravens' urgent quarterback needs after starter Lamar Jackson suffered a season-ending thumb injury and backup Tyler Huntley was sidelined with a turf toe injury.
- Brissett, who had been benched by the Cardinals in favor of Gardner Minshew II, requested a trade following the quarterback shuffle and had started 20 consecutive games for Arizona prior to being benched.
- The Ravens will reunite Brissett with quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork, who previously coached him in Arizona and Cleveland, while Jackson has been placed on injured reserve with no definitive timetable for return.
- Despite the trade, the Ravens have struggled offensively, having been held under 14 points in four straight games and suffering three consecutive losses by 20 or more points for the first time in franchise history.
