PhillyVoice • • sports
Key Points:
- The Philadelphia Eagles have decided not to trade running back Saquon Barkley as the NFL trade deadline nears, according to multiple reports from ESPN and NFL Network.
- Despite the team's struggling season and Barkley's approaching 30th birthday, the Eagles value his on-field performance and leadership, considering him a key player with multiple productive years ahead.
- Barkley was a standout player during the Eagles' dominant 2024 Super Bowl run, making a trade unpopular among fans and difficult for the organization to justify.
- The Eagles have not received any offers deemed valuable enough, such as a first-round pick, to consider trading Barkley, indicating low chances of his departure compared to other players.
