9to5Mac • • technology
Key Points:
- Samsung is reportedly planning to launch six different foldable phones next year in response to the strong demand for Apple's newly announced iPhone Duo.
- Prior to the iPhone Duo launch, Samsung expressed a welcoming stance toward Apple's entry into the foldable market but attempted to downplay it by highlighting the lighter weight of its own foldables.
- Samsung may have accelerated the release of the Galaxy Z Trifold 2 as part of its strategy to compete with Apple’s foldable device.
- The leaked lineup for next year includes the Galaxy Z Slide, Galaxy Z TriFold2, Galaxy Z Fold9 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold9 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold9, and Galaxy Z Flip9.
- Industry observers suggest Samsung’s broad product push could signal desperation but also benefits the foldable market by driving innovation and competition with Apple.
