Schoen: Two young QBs 'a good position to be in'

Key Points:

• Giants GM Joe Schoen expressed confidence in having two young quarterbacks, Jaxson Dart (out for the year) and J.J. McCarthy, indicating openness to McCarthy potentially impacting the starting role despite Dart being the likely favorite.
• J.J. McCarthy impressed in his limited action, notably throwing for 243 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter against the Saints, leading to speculation he may start upcoming games and serve as a viable QB2 option in fantasy football.
• Packers coach Matt LaFleur indicated there is a chance linebacker Micah Parsons could practice next week after recovering from an ACL tear, while wide receiver Matthew Golden’s status for Week 8 remains uncertain due to shoulder and foot injuries.
• The 49ers acquired defensive lineman DeForest Buckner from the Colts for a 2027 fourth-round pick, bolstering their defensive line with a familiar and experienced player as they prepare for a playoff push.
• The Colts placed cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four games, while the Raiders activated wide receiver Dont’e Thornton from injured reserve, likely adding depth to their receiving corps.
