Singapore Airlines reveals new business and first class seats
Key Points:
- Singapore Airlines is investing over S$2 billion ($1.6 billion) in new onboard seating, dining, and entertainment options, with new premium cabin seats debuting on Airbus A350 long-haul and ultra-long-range planes starting mid-2027.
- First-class seats will feature 32-inch 4K screens, Bang and Olufsen noise-cancelling headphones, and options for double bed and face-to-face dining configurations, while business class seats will have 22-inch 4K screens, wireless charging, and Bluetooth audio.
- The rollout on A350 aircraft addresses delays in the delivery of Boeing 777-9 planes, now expected no earlier than 2027, with these new products also planned for the 777-9 when it enters service.
- Minor upgrades will be made to premium economy and economy classes, including extra reclining space and new 4K seatback entertainment monitors, but these features will only appear on incoming 777-9 aircraft.
- The investment coincides with SIA being named World's Best Airline for 2026 by Skytrax and includes additional initiatives such as new inflight dining experiences, branded amenity kits, Starlink internet rollout on Airbus aircraft, and a S$130 million renovation of Silverkris lounges and premium airport services.
