Key Points:

• The Los Angeles Kings (0-1-0) face the San Jose Sharks (1-0-0) in Game 2 of the 2026-27 NHL regular season on October 3 at SAP Center, San Jose, aiming to bounce back after a season-opening loss to Colorado.
• The Kings will start goaltender Anton Forsberg, who has a 1-0-2 career record against the Sharks and a .922 save percentage, with lineup changes including season debuts for Corey Perry and Erik Gustafsson.
• Special teams are a key focus for the Kings following their poor power-play and penalty-killing performances in the opener, conceding four power-play goals and going 0-for-5 on the power play against Colorado.
• The Sharks enter the game with momentum from a 4-3 win over Florida, led by players like Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, who both had multi-point performances in the season opener.
• The Kings aim to improve defensive play in the slot area and overall special teams execution, while utilizing lineup flexibility and player rotations to enhance offensive opportunities and ice time distribution.
